Hier ein netter Auszug aus der heutigen Ausgabe des Scotsman:
[code:31am52p0]In summer, many of the island’s communities are jumping with dances and ceilidhs, and for the past seven years, the Celtic Colours October festival has presented a showcase for the music, as well as featuring notable Scottish guests. At a festival reception, I meet Bruce Guthro, well-known in Scotland as frontman for Runrig, and in his native Cape Breton as a singer-songwriter. "The whole culture is based around Scotland," he says. "Especially when you get around the highlands here, the way they speak is very musical and dance is huge."

Going home when summer's comming in
and the moonlight on the river shows me where I've been.

Sorry, ich kanns mir nicht vekneifen- so viel zum diskutierten Thema "waschecht"
Zitat aus erwähntem Artikel:
Scan just a few square inches of a map and the place names hit you in the face - Strathlorne Station, Scotsville, Mackinnon’s Brook, MacDonald’s Glen, East Skye, Glencoe, Inverness. But the Scottish connection runs deeper than mere place names. Listen to a Cape Breton fiddler playing a strathspey for one of their traditional stepdances, the Scotch snap ironed out into a walloping surge, or a piper playing a reel over a churning piano accompaniment, and you tune in to a very distinctive take on Scottish music, and one which in recent years has fuelled speculation about whether this is how we piped, fiddled and danced before the great scattering of emigration.
