The main support for the Winter Tour sees the welcome return of Glasgow singer songwriter, Jill Jackson, who proved so popular on the 2010 Tour.

This time round, Jill comes as lead member of her new 3 piece band, The Chaplins.They are: Jill (lead vocals, guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica), Lisa Tring (drums, percussion, vocals, ukulele) and Cameron Maxwell (double bass, vocals). They formed in July 2012, getting their name from Jill’s borderline obsession with Charlie Chaplin! With their 1920’s dress sense and quirky, alternative bluegrass sound, The Chaplins are going to be a unique addition to the music world – a distinctive sound, with soaring harmonies and foot stomping music with an edge.

The band’s debut EP Introducing The Chaplins has an honest, traditional feel, but by no means out of place in today’s contemporary music scene. With their influences ranging from Emmylou Harris to Stevie Wonder, Alison Krauss to Ray LaMontagne, the three musicians have created a five-track piece of magic that is set to resonate with the audiences. Ich freu mich schon total auf die Wintertour.Ich hab Tickets für Karlsruhe.Jill Jackson als Supporter ist auch keine schlechte Wahl.Letzte Woche war ich mit meiner Schwester im Frankfurter Hof in Mainz,Bruce Guthro mit unterstützung von seinem Sohn Dylan war echt Klasse.In der kleinen aber feinen Location hat das mal wieder richtig Spaß gemacht und wieder Appetit auf die Runrig Tour im Winter.Ich bin die Tage schon am zählen bis ich die Jungs wieder Live sehen kann.Vielleicht erfährt man da ja auch näheres über das große Jubiläum nächstes Jahr.
