Bruce in Denmark wurde erstellt von Luc
Hi all,

although I am back home from Denmark since two days I am not really
back on earth.

At first I saw Bruce on stage with Runrig and I felt in love for this
fantastic voice.
Then I bought his first two CDs, meanwhile I have all three CDs, and
thought "what a gifted man", his lyrics are so wunderful.
From my husband I got the ticket for his Solo-Show in Ballerup. I was
so very excited, without any imagine what awaits me but filled with
hope it will become a great night.

With his danish background musicans he entered the stage. "I am Bruce
Guthro. We are not Runrig. Tonight it´s all about me!" he told with a
big smile on his face and started the show. It is indscribable. I try
to do it in my native language for thoseone, couldn´t go to Denmark
this time. But it´s impossible. So fantiastic, so woooow. (A famous
canadian songwriter told my husband sometimes, if he has no one words,
he could steal some - but I don´t know, where I can find words are
enough to give anyoneelse an idea about this night)

Bruce apologized to the danish people about the foul weather and
snow-rate and promised he would take it in his baggage, when he will
go home. But I am sure, since his gig in Aalborg the danish crowed was
praying for a lot of snow, to make Bruce feel like at home and forget
to go back to Canada.

Oh, and the band was really good too. In particular the saxophon-man. I
love saxophon, the most hot instrument in the world.

Greetings from a restless happy Bruce-Fan

hey, Bruce shouldn't promise something he cannot keep, should he?

Why doesn't he take the snow from Germany?

I would be very grateful for that!!

Oh, I do believe....

Hi Timothy,

you are living in the south of Germany, may be?

I am praying for snow in NRW to lure Bruce.
On the other hand, Bruce told us while a Runrig-Gig in Bielefeld that his preferred time of year is spring, when trees and other plants are buding.

Sorry Lucarda,

I don't live in the south (although my mother is a Swabian and my father is a Bavarian). Actually I live in NRW.... but I hate snow...so sorry...

There were those beautiful days with sunshine which makes you believe spring is coming and then this terrible snow-attack in between which destroys your hope for springtime again..........

Sorry, hope you know what I mean

Oh, I do believe....

Hi Timothy,

there is no reason to apologize for something.

I also prefer sun and summer. I hope spring will start as fast as possible. The first crocuses showed their coloured heads in my mums garden and I really like to see the nature is awaking from hibernation.

I thought you are living in the south, of course this winter comes more than heavy especially in this part of germany with so horrible mass of snow. And it seems, it never will find an end. While here in NRW it´s not soooo much. Here the horror will start with snowmelt, when the Rhein will visite people in their houses.

Hi Tomothy and Lucarda,

I have just had a look at the various topics of the English speaking corner. I like the idea a lot. Aren't there more people interested in practising there English this way?

By the way I was in Esbjerg this year, too, to see Bruce live and solo. I enjoyed it very, very much. It liked his storytelling, the way he changed from funny to serious and sad songs and I liked the rest of the band, too. I met a German mother and daugher and we spent the evening of the concert together giggling and having a lot of fun. It was so great to sit at tables like in a pub, drinking a glass or two of beer while listening to the music. It was quite a trip to travel to Esbjerg on Saturday and to travel back to Germany on Sunday. The trains were delayed because of snowstorms. But I enjoyed almost every minute of the journey.

Isn't it a good sign that Bruce had his hp translated into German? Perhaps he will really come to Germany for a solo concert sooner or worse later.

cheers, Halifax

It's a beautiful life when you know yourself
it's a thin-veiled disguise when you're not yourself
so don't try and hide
the whole world is waiting for you
